Gnome's Picks

Criteria for Posting to Gnome’s Picks Calendar

  • Must be relevant and open to all Penn graduate and professional students.
  • Must provide the date, time, location, and contact information in all event descriptions.
  • If available, please include a relevant hyperlink in the event description or in the title section.
  • Entries must be tasteful: no offensive, inappropriate, or vulgar language.
  • We reserve the right to remove any posts.

To post events to the calendar, you must have a gmail account. Please e-mail outreach@gsc.upenn.edu to request access.

Career Services: Hosts workshops which address honing professional development and the job search.

Penn Library: Presents workshops on a variety of topics, ranging from Adobe Photoshop and Bloomberg to conference presentations and citations, and covering everything in between.

Weigle Information Commons: Provides "Wicshops" and online tutorials on technological topics such as wiki development and podcasts.

Weingarten Learning Resources Center: Sponsors workshops on academic reading, writing, and study strategies.

Arts at Penn: Lists arts and culture activities on Penn's campus.

GAPSA: Offers great events just for graduate and professional students.

ICA: Presents exhibitions, educational programs, events about established and emerging artists, and special programming for Penn students.

Kelly Writers House: Hosts a variety of events focusing on the Word.

Penn Humanities Forum: Presents lectures from Penn and visiting scholars on a yearly theme.

Penn Museum: Conducts a variety of educational events for kids & adults.

Penn Music Department: Offers performances through classical and jazz concerts.

The Rotunda: Hosts art events including poetry slams, concerts, film screenings, and mural arts exhibitions.

World Cafe Live: Showcases live music.

Personal Development Calendars

Civic House: Sponsors community service activities.

CWiC: Conducts workshops for students to improve presentation and speaking abilities.

CAPS: Holds workshop outreach on topics such as stress-relief and conflict management.

Graduate Student Center: Offers information about additional community service opportunities.

Office of Health Eduation: Presents health and wellness workshops.

Office of Public Safety: Provides Rape Agression Defense courses for women and a Resisting Aggression with Defense program for men.

Penn Rec: Offers exercise and fitness courses.

Office of the Chaplain: Provides links to campus religious communities and religious student organizations and their calendars.
