Grad-Undergrad Mentoring Program

About Grad-Undergrad Mentoring Program

The Grad-Undergrad Mentoring Program at the University of Pennsylvania pairs Penn undergraduates with Penn graduate and professional students to help undergraduates learn first-hand about graduate school.  Graduate student mentors offer a unique "insider's" perspective on what it's like to apply to and attend graduate school.

For undergraduate mentees, participating is a fun and social activity that can help you expand your horizons, as well as broaden and deepen your understanding of educational and career opportunities. We currently have mentors in a wide array of fields, including architecture, biology, business, education, engineering, law, medicine, poltical science, psychology, sociology, and more! And we will make every effort to find you a suitable mentor in your academic field of interest.

Graduate student mentors find the experience highly rewarding and not time-intensive. Participating is a great way to develop the mentoring skills you will need, as you advance in your career, as well.

This program is cosponsored by Penn's Graduate Student Center, GAPSA, and UA.

Applications to participate in the mentoring program are closed for the semester.

Undergraduates interested in attending grad school are also encouraged to take advantage of these other Penn resources:

Career Services provides information on graduate study and professional schools; has grad school advisors, offers workshops, and keeps an extensive resources library.

CURF (Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships) assists with finding research opportunities to strengthen your graduate school application and with fellowship opportunities to fund graduate school.
