This workshop helps students improve their abilities to speak in discussions, in class or elsewhere. The workshop will explore ways to become a more confident, active participant and to elevate the caliber of your contributions.

Controlling Anxiety

This session addresses nervousness in speaking and suggests methods for overcoming it. The session will be peer-led: students who have overcome their fears of public speaking to become accomplished speakers will lead a discussion about their experiences and what others may do.

Visual Support: Using PowerPoint

This workshop explores the principles of using visuals to support your oral presentations. In particular, the session will focus on using PowerPoint effectively. The discussion will center on the elements of successful visuals and how to use them, not on the technical aspects of the computer program.
