Modern Languages Program
The Modern Languages Program
(MLP) brings many of the benefits of study abroad right to Gregory.
The MLP includes four Language Houses: French, German, Italian,
and Spanish. Each house resides on one floor in the Class of 1925
building, where students converse with their hall mates in the target
language. Each Language House also includes language dinners every
night, biweekly films, and a weekly coffee hour, all of which give residents
an opportunity to enhance their linguistic abilities. Either a native
or fluent speaker, with a genuine interest in helping residents to improve
their fluency, administers these activities. Moreover, the language
departments at Penn realize the value of MLP and award students a half
credit per semester for their work.
