Cawfee Tawk:
With “cawfee tawk,” getting together with your mentor/mentee is now no big whoop. Refreshments on us! What better incentive to get together in person than “cawfee”? Mentoring pairs can now chat over “cawfee and…” at Starbucks, Cosi, Bucks County Coffee, or Bubble House Tea using gift cards provided by GAPSA for the Graduate/Undergraduate Mentoring Program. Each mentoring pair is eligible for one $8 gift card each semester. In order to receive their card, pairs must show up together and present their Penn cards at the Grad Center (3615 Locust Walk) front desk. Try it! It might just make your mentoring discussions flow “like
buttah.” Oh…I’m getting verklempt just thinking about
it!

“I initially signed up for a mentor because I knew I wanted to continue my education but I didn’t know exactly how or in what direction. Talking with my mentor really helped me sort out the different options and the advantages/disadvantages of each. I have a much clearer idea of where I want to go now. Also,, my mentor helped me find a summer job when all my other choices fell through.” ~Noel Camacho (Bioengineering undergraduate)
“My graduate mentor, Imogen, a city planning student, has been extremely responsive and helpful. We met for coffee at Cosi and talked for two hours. The entire experience was so helpful to me, not only because Imogen is knowledgeable about a wealth of professional information relating to the types of grad school I am considering, but also because she has been where I have personally and can relate to the apprehension graduating seniors feel.” ~Liz Thomas (English and Urban Studies undergraduate)
